If you don't know about the raw talent that both Apollo Brown and Guilty Simpson bring to the table, then the Dice Game album is all the evidence you need.
Apollo Brown has been destroying the competition with solid beats for entire full-length albums for Hassan Mackey, OC, his own beat tapes and now Guilty Simpson. He combines boom bap drums, soul chops and dramatic samples that help lead the MC on an often introspective and honest journey that always sounds fresh.
Stand outs for me are "Let's Play" where Apollo flips the Wu-Tang sample from C.R.E.A.M. and "Ink Blotches" where he bangs out an anthem that makes me want to kick people in the face (in a good way). Those are 2 or the many flawless tracks on the album, to me, and help build a skip proof album that rocks from front to back. Do your self a favor and pick it up from Mello Music Group!
