Video: Typical Cats - "Bitter Cold"
Chicago's true school vets, the Typical Cats, recently dropped the visuals for the track "Bitter Cold" and capture the mood of the track perfectly. Filmed in one of Chi-towns many abandoned buildings and rocking an old world accordion sample, Qwel flexes his rapid-fire skills that give a "street preacher" vibe of the video. Talented video from some of the Midwests most talented cats. Check it out here and support quality music!

Fine Art Friday: Nunca in Berlin
Brazilian artist Nunca, whose work I have featured on The Double Truth before, recently painted a large scale mural in Berlin and though I didn't see it in person, I am always down to shine a light on his art. Nunca is Spanish for “Never” for the uninitiated, and the artists work usually centers around the indigenous people of Brazil and their struggle to survive. This piece was a dedication to the cultural punk population of Germany and their shameless panhandling efforts to "survive". Created in conjunction with the Urban Spree Festival in Berlin, Nunca kept his signature style of overlapping line work to render the finished piece and introduce his own narrative into the mix. Check out some of the pics below to see a shot of the work in progress and the finished mural. (shouts to Urban Spree for the pics)

Video: Wordsmith - "Living Life Check to Check"
Not to be confused with Wordsworth or Locksmith, underground emcee Wordsmith recently dropped the visuals for his track "Living Life Check to Check". I will always appreciate the honesty of MCs who admit the real life and the struggle of most musicians who do music on the side for the love. Wordsmith chooses a laid back, country-tinged beat to lament the fact that he, like so many others, have to balance their budgets and passions everyday to make it in America. Check out Wordsmith's "The Blue Collar Recital" album when it drops this Fall and support quality, honest music.

Listen: DLO - "PDCA"
Double Truth alumni and LuvJonez collaborator DLO the Iceman, just dropped a single "PDCA" for free download and to show the world where he's at right now. Always experimenting with rhythms and live instrumentation, I am always glad to hear new stuff from DLO, who is talented on the mic and behind the boards. Check it out and support a slept-on Midwest talent. Stream and download links below.

Video: Clear Soul Forces - "Beats Rhymes and Life"
Detroit's Clear Soul Forces drop the visuals for the single "Beats Rhymes and Life" from the upcoming album "GoldPP7s". I first heard about CSF about a year ago when they used some KanKick beats on a mixtape without asking and he requested they take it down. It was just enough controversy for me to check them out and see what they were about. I figured if they knew about KanKick then they had to have good taste in beats. Needless to say, a year later and they look like they are on a good path. Check it out and see that not everything in the D is bleek.
