Video: Theory Hazit - "Find Me" Remix

Though I do not typically check for Christian hip hop, the Humble Beast crew does a good job of not preaching and just trying to stay positive for the most part. Theory Hazit just dropped a gem of a track and video for "Find Me" (remixed by Beautiful Eulugy) and I have to recognize good music for good music's sake. Kind of an indie rock vibe but a good redemptive, "hard knocks life" reflection track from Theory Hazit. If you like the vibe, check out the Humble Beast roster. Most of their work is free, so no loss if you invest a few minutes to absorb some more positive messages in your life.

Video: The Kid Daytona - "Humid Nights" (Prod. by JR&PH7)

Relatively slept-on German producer-duo JR and PH7 recently dropped the official visuals for the track "Humid Nights" featuring The Kid Daytona from their "The Good Life" album. The Soulspazm crew has a knack for creating chill backdrops for many underground emcee's and music groups and the newest album keeps those efforts consistent. Check it out on ITUNES here and see how international cats keep the rue School alive overseas.

Video: Tony Bones - "The Story of Moral" ft. Slug + AG

Tony Bones recently dropped the visuals for his latest effort with the lead single "The Story of Moral" featuring underground legends SLUG (of Atmosphere) and AG (of Showbiz and AG). The track, produced by Jaron McDaniel has a very early-Atmosphere vibe of a slightly "folk music meets hip hop" sound and can be found on the Tony Bones 2011 LP "The Legacy" or via MPLS hip hop cornerstone Fifth Element on limited vinyl and cd. Check it out on itunes HERE or click the links below.

Fine Art Friday: Joe Iurato

I have been a fan of Joe Iurato's work for a long time purely for his incredible detail as a stencil artist and even more so for his recent interactive "in limbo" series of hanging figures placed at random spots in the environment around us. These smaller pieces appear dimensional, a testament to the skills, but are falt stenciled shapes placed into small spaces that catch you off guard and make you examine them closer. Iurato likes to hide his work and seems to enjoy the reward of people finding them or guessing where they are buried in the landscape of cities, parks and streets around us. Check out the images here and on his website and see the work of a hard working artist, father and concerned citizen.

Listen: Fresh Daily - "The Brooklyn Good Guy"

I know I am super late on posting some Fresh Daily this year, as he continues to drop quality music with a chilled Brooklyn vibe. While this release "The Brooklyn Good Guy" is internet-old (March 2012), it deserves repeated attention and has been a mainstay in my ipod for the last several months. Plenty of ink has been spilled to acclaim Fresh Daily for the talent that he is, but if you aren't familiar with him, he reminds me of a one man Slum Village or ATCQ as he handles the laid back approach, talks of having fun with the homies and sprinkles some spacey, upbeat future music in the mix as well.

Check out lots of free downloads on his Bandcamp page and support quality music!

Video: Sean Born - "Grandeur"

Sean Born, on behalf of the Mello Music Group, just dropped the video for the new single "Grandeur" from his 2012 album "Behind The Scale". The chilled, mystical vibe of the beat, courtesy of Kev Brown, matches the midnight visuals of the video well. Lots of DC hip hop alumni make cameo's in the video to support yet another quality release from the Mello Music crew. Keep an eye out for more in 2013!

Listen: DJ Shadow - "All Bases Covered" Mix

DJ Shadow recently dropped the "All Basses Covered Mix (The Infamous South Beach Set, December 2012) to both do the world a favor and see what vibe he is currently on and to expose the ridiculous Mansion nightclub in Miami for kicking him off the DJ decks for playing this exact set, which prompted the above tweet. For a FREE DL of the mix and a break down of what happened...
